Pastor Biography
Pastor Leon Washburn joined the Church of God of Prophecy in 1970,
while his father was the Pastor of the Ft. Payne Church of God of
Prophecy. He is a third generation Pastor, and when he was called he
served local church's as Youth Pastor, Men's Ministry leaders, and
Sunday School Superintendent but then allowed the deception of the
enemy to lead him away for many years. But in 1997 a revival at Joyful
Praise Family Worship Center he gave his live back to Jesus Christ.
Knowing he had a calling on his life, but refusing to even thank of
Pastoring. He decided to work with a local church and raise his family but
God had another plan. He was stricken with a sickness that could and
would have took his life. Pastor Leon prayed and asked God to heal him
and said he would go. He was healed and moved to Pinson Al. A few years
later in 2001 he became the Youth Pastor of the Pinson Parkway Church
of God of Prophecy. Later in 2003 he became the Pastor of the Sylacauga
Church of God of Prophecy and then the Lord sent him back to
Goodwater to Pastor Joyful Praise Family Worship Center.
